I've been lately trying to see what Pennsylvania wineries have to offer, as there are some good offerings coming from Pennsylvania, but as I have been discovering, there are some bad offerings as well.

I have often wondered if anyone every writes a bad wine review, because it seems like they just won't review something at all. And it's something that I have been pondering over for two months now. Unfortunately, I have had at least two wines that have made me put in a negative review.

In a plain green bottle, with a simple label, came a Chardonnay from Rose Bank Winery in Newtown, PA. There is very little about the wine on the bottle, not even the alcoholic content is given.

As I went to try it, I actually found one of the most horrible tasting wines that I have ever had, bordering somewhat on the highly toxic tasting gutter wines favored by the local drunk that hovers outside of the liquor stores door asking for change.

I could find nothing good to say about this wine, so I can't recommend it to you. If anything, I dare you to actually find something that you like about it.

That said, because it had so little information on it, there is no way to ever know if this was just one bad batch, and whether they will correct their process and deliver another one.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
